That's like saying that bugs that have been patched out of a game are relevant.

They may be an indication for the company's behavior for future products. Are we going to have to wait 14 hours to play future Blizzard games because of server errors?

Stuff like this certainly affects their reputation. Bethesda can patch all the bugs they want, but they now have a reputation for creating glitchy, bugged out games.

Blizzard may have fixed the server errors, but they now have a reputation for locking you out of single player because their own servers aren't working.

And it doesn't matter to the game's quality when those issues have been fixed. It has nothing to do with their reputation.

A game should be good to go at launch. "We'll fix it later," is hardly an excuse. If that was true, companies could release glitchy, broken pieces of crap with unreachable multiplayer servers under the mantle of "We'll fix it later in a patch." Brink is easily my favorite FPS, but when the game first came out the servers lagged like no other. If I were to review the game at launch I would have to make note of this and detract from the score, especially since Brink is such a multiplayer-centric game.

When you buy Diablo III and can't play any of the game (even the single player) because there are issues on Blizzard's end, that's a 0 out of 10 game. That's $60 you just gave them for nothing in return.

Blizzard of all companies has no excuse for something like this anyway. Especially locking you out of single player because you can't access their multiplayer servers. That's just moronic.

And those reviews are now meaningless because those problems no longer exists with the game itself. It does not matter what the game was like upon release, what matters is what the game is like now.

I assume this is Diablo 3 week, if I'm not mistaken.
