Rayman Legends Delayed, No Longer Wii U Exclusive

Ubisoft has announced that Rayman Legends has been delayed and will no longer be a Wii U exclusive. Legends will now hit Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U in early September, more than six months later than its original release date of February 26th.

That's what people are upset about. Why delay the finished Wii U version just so it can release alongside the 360 and PS3 versions?

Also, this is amazing.



This may be the first time an entire console community has been able to blast a developer for a decision like this directly in their face. What's worse is that every single person who own's a Wii U is going to be able to see these comments. Bad publicity is an understatement.

The Last of Us delayed to June 14th

In a statement issued by Naughty Dog, the developer said "as a team we pride ourselves on setting a very high quality bar for every aspect of our games - gameplay, story, art, design, technology and more. We want to make sure The Last of Us raises that bar even further - for ourselves, and most importantly, our fans."

"As we entered the final phase of development for The Last of Us, we came to realise just how massive Joel and Ellie’s journey is. But instead of cutting corners or compromising our vision, we came to the tough decision that the game deserved a few extra weeks to ensure every detail of The Last of Us was up to Naughty Dog’s internal high standards."

The Last Guardian Still Being Developed Says Fumito Ueda

"While it’s been a long time coming, The Last Guardian remains under my creative supervision and is still in development by an incredibly talented team," he said.

"I should also mention that details regarding The Last Guardian's release is solely decided by Sony Computer Entertainment, not myself. Please keep an eye out for their official announcement.

"Moving forward, it is my intent to continue my involvement with The Last Guardian project, as well as pursue new creative projects with a fresh perspective. As I rekindle my passions as a creator, I look forward to seeing where it will take me, and I deeply appreciate your support during this transition."

Now, we're not sure about you, but it's that middle bit that strikes us as interesting. If responsibility for the announcement lies with Sony, it seems reasonable that this could be because the company has yet to officially announce the platform that the game is now being developed for. With a big announcement of some sort planned for February 20, if this was the case then it'd certainly make sense for us to "keep an eye out" for fresh developments.

During its Nintendo Direct broadcast this morning, Nintendo announced that Animal Crossing: New Leaf will hit stores on June 9th in North America and June 14th in Europe.

During its Nintendo Direct broadcast this morning, Nintendo announced a new Mario Golf game for 3DS. Titled Mario Golf: World Tour, the game will once again be developed by Camelot and will be available this summer.

Sony just announced a price drop to Vita in Japan to under 20000 yen. (roughly equivalent to 215 US dollars)
