Basti might be able to help you out Sant, he helped me with a list of recommended parts. I don't really want to like, put him on the spot, or anything like that though. If you don't mind ordering parts and building one then a website I used previously to try various setups at different price ranges: http://pcpartpicker.com/

Re: My Little Genchat #6: Season 4 is here
yeh, I can recommend you some parts.
Main focus will be gaming I guess? Anything else you want to do on your machine that needs a lot of horsepower, like video editing for example?
And do you need any peripherals (monitor, speakers, mouse, keyboard) with it and/or a full priced Windows license or do you have some of that stuff?

Re: My Little Genchat #6: Season 4 is here
looks reasonable. I'll check Newegg tomorrow or so.
What's the model of your current PSU?
Depending on how big your editing needs are an i7 might be worth it, but for just on the side an i5 should do fine.
If you overclock you can actually go for the 3xxxk series IMO. Mainboards are cheaper and the chips overclock a bit higher, performance is roughly the same in the end as the 4xxx series.

Re: My Little Genchat #6: Season 4 is here
Well, personally I'd recommend it because free extra performance and there's currently some good deals on the pre-gen boards, but I'll give you 2 CPU/MoBo combination options in that case. You don't really need the 4xxx Intel chip generation, as performance gains over the 3xxx chips is very small, but the 3xxxk overclock higher. If it's going to be an non overclockable setup then I'd go for the 4xxx line instead.
As for the GPU I'd actually decide between a HD 7970 and GTX 770. The 280x is basically a 7970 GHz, they perform pretty much on par, and there is some 7970 models available for the same price, but they come with 3 free games instead, which the 280x doesn't (some models come with BF4, but that's it).
The GTX 770 is 20-30$ more expensive and performs roughly the same, in some games the AMD cards have the edge and in some NVidia. The GTX 770 comes with 3 games too atm, so I'd say you can decide based on what games you like more that you'd get with each card. Additionally NVidia has PhysX (IMO not important since hardly any games use it well) and Shadowplay which is nice if you want to record.
I'll do a part list later.

Looks good for the most part, but a 60GB SSD is too small. Go for 120GB at least, 250GB is about the sweet spot IMO.Santeco wrote:with some new deals here is what i got

And now you still have overclockable parts in there anyways. If you don't want to OC we can save some money there, otherwise I'd recommend going for 1155 socket parts.

Re: My Little Genchat #6: Season 4 is here
I do very much recommend it. It's very easy to do on the current Intel platforms, especially if you just go for a modest overclock, you usually won't even have to mess with voltages for that.
And you don't have to do it right away too. When your CPU starts being a bottleneck, go at it. If it works, cool, you can use it longer before having to upgrade. If it breaks, no problem, you needed a new one anyways.
Part list here. I went with an overclockable setup but went for a pre-gen CPU and board.
CPU: i5-3570k, combo with a mousemat for free. Even if you don't need it, hey, free stuff. Cons vs 4670k: Runs 5-10% slower clock for clock depending on application. Pros vs 4670k: Runs a bit cooler and therefore overclocks higher (resulting in overall same performance), 25$ cheaper. IMO the better option.
CPU cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus, don't forget to use the 5$ promo code.
MoBo: ASRock Z77 Extreme4, very solid board with a good feature set for the price, also overclocks very well for the price. Also cheaper because of the older socket.
GPU and RAM combo: MSI GTX 770 + 2x4GB G.Skill Sniper 1866MHz RAM. The MSI cards have very good coolers and it's one of the cheapest GTX 770 models available too. Same goes for the RAM. The combo deal takes 19$ off which makes this the best option, you also get a 15$ mail-in rebate card.
HDD and ODD combo: Samsung DVD-burner + 1TB SeaGate Barracuda HDD. Overall cheapest option with solid parts. There is combo deals with the same ODD with 2, 3 and 4TB models of the SeaGate HDD if you feel like having some more space (it would fit your budget).
SSD: SanDisk Ultra Plus 256GB. Dat Black Friday deal price, get it! Also uses a Marvell over a Sandforce controller, which I like. Sandforce causes more problems overall.
If you want to spend a bit less and think you're going to be fine with 120GB (I still recommend 250GB) I'd suggest the Samsung 840 EVO 120GB
Case: Rosewill Challenger Black, unbeatable value with the current price and the 15$ mail-in rebate.
Since you have a bit of budget left you could of course change the case if you don't like that one. Short list with some case manufacturers and a few models that are solid off the top of my head: Xigmatek (Recon, Asgard Pro), Thermaltake (V3, V4), NZXT (Source, Gamma), Rosewill (Redbone, Galaxy), Antec (Gaming One), Corsair, Bitfenix. There is more of course.
In total this checks out at 930ish, and you get a 5$ promo code and a total of 30$ mail-in rebates which leaves you with some headroom if you want a different case or more HDD space.
I can suggest a different CPU and MoBo if you want to drop the overclocking capabilities, but as I said, I'd recommend keeping it.
And you don't have to do it right away too. When your CPU starts being a bottleneck, go at it. If it works, cool, you can use it longer before having to upgrade. If it breaks, no problem, you needed a new one anyways.
