I thought the episode was okay, nothing special.

At first I thought Rainbow Dash was gonna be her usual cocky self, but at least she learned to be great with humility again thanks to the even bigger cocky Lighting dust, whom I was surprised to see be such a jerk, I was expecting a friendly rival, but not a jerk.

Also, either Spitfire forgot about how awesome Dash is, or she didn't want to show possible bias towards her, so she acted like she never met her, but I didn't like Spitfire's attitude through most of the episode.

Also, how were Twilight, Apple Jack, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie able to land on that cloud, even though Rainbow dash distinctively said that only Pegasus ponies can be supported (more or less) by clouds. If anything, they should've went right through and died. Tongue

But I guess Rainbow dash made it compact enough to support them.

A miss episode if you ask me

I can't really fathom how anyone could call this a bad/"meh" episode. I thought it was pretty good. I loved drill instructor Spitfire( I can't wait for some one to dub full metal jacket over that segment), and Lighting Dust(despite being a jerk)was pretty bad ass. I also loved all the speedy flight stunts, and the Pinkie Pie gags. I also adored seeing all of the "Hurricane Fluttershy" Ponies(who also had their own funny gags) return, it was a nice touch.

I agree. And I figured the same about the cloud where Dash compacted it tight enough. They didn't really land on it just was paused for that brief moment before being shot back up. It was a very good episode and like someone else said on Youtube; this was Drill Instructor Spitfire; not social Spitfire. Drill Instructor's are supposed to be rough, straight-forward, and show no preferences towards any cadet from outside experiences.

That was Applejack's best episode of the entire series so far.

It was nice to see Babs, and even Braeburn again, though when he spoke it certainly wasn't he same VA, and to see the other apple family members, I liked the one on the hay ride with the IIRC, pink mane.
