Batman: Arkham Origins Confirmed, Handheld Spinoff Also Coming!





Batman Arkham Origins has just been announced for PC, Wii U, PS3 and Xbox 360! Set several years before the previous chapters in the series, the story will put you in the shoes of a younger Batman. Players will meet many of the franchise’s most important characters for the first time and even develop important relationships with them.

Alongside the main game, a handheld title called Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate ,a 2.5D Metroid-style adventure, will be available for 3DS and Vita platforms. Both games will be available on October 25th of this year, with the handheld installment helmed by Armature Studios, while the other is being developed by WB Games Montreal, rather than series creator Rocksteady. Stay tuned to Gamefocus for more details on the game!

Not really news but this A.N.N.E kickstarter game looks so good, reminds me alot of Cave Story which I loved, will support once its really close to PSN/Vita goal.

I feel bad that the games that Game freak makes that aren't Pokemon get overlooked. They made a Wario game?

So the WiiU's already lost some 3rd party support from EA:

The Frostbite 2 engine apparently didn't work well on the WiiU, so they're not even going to try the Frostbite 3 engine. Games that won't be showing up on the WiiU, as a result, include Battlefield 4 and the next entries in the series Dragon Age and Mass Effect.

Not to say that there aren't other games "core gamers" love, but jeez, so much for Nintendo trying to get back in that market.

you can pretty much confirm that EA and Nintendo are in bad terms right now

some say its Origin others say bad sales

in the end i still don't care about EA

I don't care about EA much either, but I do care about Mass Effect and (to a lesser extent) Dragon Age. Don't get me wrong - I'm not interested in any next-gen consoles, but if I were to actually get one, at this point it'd most likely be a PS4 or Xbox 720 when they release, and certainly not a WiiU.

EA's a crap company and I don't play their games. Might hurt Nintendo, but I couldn't care less.

And if this fall-out means no Origin on Wii U, all the better.

I don't think Nintendo really need them anyways. They have their loyal fanbase and they don't need to sell more units than the other players to make a profit, since they're not selling the consoles at a loss.

If anything, I'm all for them giving EA the finger if it means they didn't get Origin on the console.
