- well i got to say i liked the eps, and i really like how they touched on spike and twilight's relation
now the thing that's driving me nuts is that commercial that had all those previews for the upcoming eps

- I thought the villain could've been awesome, but was udnerused. From what I've saw of him he seemed he could be the 2nd strongest villain the ponies face, behind Discord. Shame he spent most of his time outside the city

Haven't been here in a while. Hey guys!
I thought the two new episodes were pretty great, Right on par with anything in the previous seasons. Although I thought it was kind of a bummer that king sombra had no real screen time or personality. Oh well, at least his design and powers were cool. It felt really good to see the mane 6(plus spike) back in action again after the long wait, and all of their gags were pretty damn funny. I really loved Rarity's funny little "geek out" moments in the Crystal Empire. The songs were pretty damn catchy too. I'd say this was a pretty good way to start the new season.
Also the previews of the later episodes look crazy lol, I can't wait for the rest of the season.

- Well, at least they didn't use the elements of harmony to beat King Somber. Still a great episode, though self sacrifice seems to be an odd lesson to learn in a kids show (I know they only meant put others before yourself, self sacrifice is just an odd way to word it).

The guy didn't say or do hardly anything. I think his only dialogue might have been "Mmm, crystal ponies." and "Mmm, crystal heart." Reminds me more of the cookie monster than a cartoon villain. - Anyways, I thought the Season 3 starter was worse than the season 2 starter and finale and maybe on par with the Season 1 starter (maybe). At times Rarity and Pinkie Pie felt a bit like caricatures of themselves, though I think they kinda leaned away from that towards the end (I will say, though, that Pinkie Pie hopping out of a Fluttershy suit was hilarious
).
I really think they could have cut out a lot of the fat from the episode and put in place some backstory or character development for King Sombra. Maybe he could be tormenting Twilight while she's trying to find the crystal heart or something. Also, the whole Crystal Empire thing felt kinda... nyeh... I dunno. It just felt like it and Equestria's fates really weren't that tied together. King Sombra could have kept it for all I cared.

- Yeah that book is pretty interesting. It seems like it's going to play a pretty big role in this season. I have a gut feeling that it's going to be introduced properly in the episode that features those two mysterious "horse" characters.

- The book definitely has to do with the "And one pony will discover her true destiny" line from the Season 3 commercial. Celestia and Luna obviously got plans for Twilight.
Also, d'oh, hoh hoh. Get it? Because her name's Twilight and she's supposed to balance night and day or something?
Don't know what's up with those freaky looking ponies though. They look like thing things you'd ride on a merry-go-round.

I am just bummed about the villain. They have done so very well giving villains personalities, but this one had none and he did absolutely nothing but turn things into crystal
