If the console is backwards compatible with Wii AND GC games, it's a no brainer for me.

Just Wii I believe.

That's what I'm... uh, fearing. Seeing as the Wii had BC with GC games, it shouldn't be too hard to implement it in the Wii U as well if it has BC with Wii games though...
Guess I'd just have to finally set up an emulator on my PC to play all the GC games I wanted to play.

It's not really anything of note except that it's providing a traditional control method for those who want it. Which is good, seeing as it shows that Nintendo does want to cater to both sides of the market.

I'd bet money on it. It'll likely be the equivalent of a differently shaped gamepad without a screen or NFC doo-hickey.

OK, all I've seen so far has been pretty boring. Anything before that that would warrant re-watching the conference? I guess not?

Not really, microsofts E3 was so disappointing.

Overall I thought it was good, but there were definitely parts that were boring and dragged on. However it was definitely an improvement over the last two years, and at least they didn't focus on nothing but Kinect.

I'd give them a B-. Not a great conference but they did have some good games (Halo, Splinter Cell, Tomb Raider). Some of the stuff they showed was kind of neat, like the tablet integration, even if I would never use it. Other stuff like the sports and fitness stuff just dragged on for way too long.

Tomb Raider was actually mildly exciting, the other few games I've seen after that were an absolute snorefest.
Eh, didn't really expect much in that department anyways. I expected them to make some kind of announcement about a new XBox, but not even that. meh.

I know. They showed off very few exclusives alongside some multiplats that might use kinect somehow or have timed exclusive DLC.

Honestly, I guess it's kind of hard for them to fill a 2 hour conference with stuff that's exclusive to Xbox without talking about something besides games. Maybe they should shorten their conferences down to an hour or even an hour and a half.

Some new games would have been nice but it sucks that Microsoft doesn't want to take risks anymore, next up is EA I'm a bit excited for Dead Space 3.
